SAFARI EQ3: Queen Elizabeth
National Park (3 Days)
Day 1: kampala – Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana
Lodge
- After an early breakfast, leave your hotel and head for
western Uganda. Then reach and make a stop at the equator
line – enjoy being at this hemisphere an experience
of s lifetime! Take photographs. Check handcrafts –
you could buy souvenirs here.
Proceed to Mbarara town for lunch. Mbarara is a fast growing
town and offers variety of both local and foreign dishes.
Do not miss out on the famous Ankole long–horned cattle.
- Continue with the journey and enjoy the beauty of Bushenyi,
through the tea plantations then as you decent you are awed
by the western arm of the rift valley – dressed by
woodland savannah. You could catch a glimpse of elephants
as you proceed.
- Proceed to Mweya safari lodge en route you could catch
a glimpse on bush bucks, wathogs, kobs and a variety of
bird species.
- Have your dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge –
right on the Mweya peninsula overlooking the famous Kazinga
Channel.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP)
- Wake up early for a morning game drive and witness the
sunrise, and the Rwenzori Mountains (also known as "Mountains
of the Moon") providing a superb scenic enjoyment.
On the game drive, you will see lions, leopards, waterbucks,
Uganda kobs, topis, bushbucks and several others plus a
variety of bird species.and a magnificent vegetation.
- Return to hotel for a late breakfast.
- After breakfast, head for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
Kazinga channel is naturally /especially endowed with plenty
of bird species including the rare shoebill stock, providing
a good gesture for bird watching. It is also home of dense
population of hippos. Then return to hotel for lunch.
- After lunch, take an evening game drive. This second game
drive enables you to view some wildlife you missed seeing
in the morning
Day 3: Mweya safari lodge – Maramagambo Forest
– Kampala
- Depart early morning for Maramagambo Forest – one
of Uganda’s tropical forests well endowed with variety
of plant species. You could take nature walks and view chimpanzees
as well as other primates.
- Take a visit at the bat caves. Maramagambo is home of
the blue lake- most probably the only one in the whole world!
- Depart for Kampala that afternoon, stop in Mbarara for
lunch.
- Proceed and gaze at the beautiful lowland plains on the
way. You could stop over again at the Equator for a final
feel of this pathway of the sun, then proceed and arriveKampala
in the evening.
